Thin, brown, leathery skin encloses this honey-blond to deep red-brown flesh. Sapodilla has a taste similar to maple sugar or brown sugar. Serve it raw in fruit salads, or puree the fruit to use in baked goods, drinks, sauces or syrups. Advise consumers to not eat the thin, black seeds or the inedible skin. It is available in the spring from Mexico and Central America.
