Commodity Overview

Organic radish sales are growing, however, radishes still account for a small portion of radish sales. In fact, just 5% of radish sales are organic. Organic radishes do appeal to consumers looking to create all organic salads and vegetable trays.

Sales Strategies

Promote organic radishes to health-conscious consumers looking for environmentally friendly options. Because radishes are grown under the ground, consumers may be interested in the organic growing practices used to grow organic radishes.

Include organic radishes in organic salad vegetable promotions. Cross-promote them with organic salad dressings, organic bagged salads and other organic salad vegetables.

Include organic radishes in summertime grilling promotions as they are a tasty grilled side dish.

Dynamic Displays

Display organic radishes with other organic salad vegetables. If displaying radishes with tops on, they need to be misted. Be sure to keep them away from conventional produce that needs to be misted as the water from conventional produce can contaminate the organic product. Avoid misting bagged organic radishes.

Organic radishes bright red color makes for an eye-catching color break within your department.
