Flowering kale differs from regular kale in that it has large curly-leafed greens with flowering white, pink or purple leaves in the heart of the head. The rosettes of loose, ruffle-edged leaves branch out from a central stalk. It has a bitter taste and crisp texture. It is also called ornamental cabbage or ornamental kale. Flowering kale is available year-round.
