There is some confusion over butter beans vs. Lima beans. Essentially, they are the same thing. The smaller variety (sometimes called baby Limas) are more often referred to as butter beans, while Lima beans are often what consumers think about as being the small green variety (but they can also be white). Butter beans are said to have a more delicate flavor than Lima beans.
