Suppliers are expanding value-added and packaged offerings to meet the demand for fresh, ready-to-eat options.
Four new kits — Smash Burger, Apple Harvest, Cool Melon and Strawberry Poppyseed kits — are the direct result of expanded research into the latest taste trends, the company says.
The company has added hot honey flavor to its microwave-ready kits and added garlic and parmesan to its grill or oven-ready kit.
Fresh carrot products will launch under the Bolthouse Fresh consumer brand name, bringing healthy convenience to retail and foodservice customers, the company says.
“With continued economic uncertainty, attitudes about eating at home and health are evolving, and consumers are seeking a balance between value, wellness and convenience,” said Kathleen Triou, president and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network, the exclusive supplier of Side Delights potatoes and onions.
