Divert Inc. has released data showing wasted food measured nearly 30% higher in summertime than the winter months.
The company's second annual report highlights its efforts in sustainability such as utilizing organic diversion programs in 85% of its stores.
Flashfood says the platform will support local retailers by providing a solution to attract new customers, boost profits, and provide affordable fresh food in their communities while reducing food waste.
Earlier this summer, Harris Teeter and Washington Fruit Growers teamed to provide fresh produce to those in need through their “Apples in Action” campaign.
Building on the working group with the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, Qfresh Lab will support the collaboration with documentation, implementation strategies and more.
