Wholesum, Amado, Ariz., is launching its four-item snack tomato line in colorful top-seal packaging.

The organic tomatoes will be on display at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit expo Oct. 18-19 in Anaheim, Calif., at booth No. 1483.

Ricardo Crisantes, chief commercial officer at Wholesum, said the company emphasizes flavor in its products.

“Our customers have loved our snacking tomato varieties, so we thought why not bring them together as a flavor-centric collection?” Crisantes said in a news release. “We truly believe that these are some of the best-tasting snacking tomatoes on market, and we’re very excited to showcase them at PMA.”

The tomatoes in the line are:

  • Poppies — Cherry tomatoes-on-the-vine;
  • Kaleidos — Red, yellow, orange and brown snack tomatoes, in consistent portion in each package;
  • Darlings — Deep red grape tomatoes with brix levels above 7.5; and
  • Brites — Cherry tomatoes on-the-vine with an option of red and yellow or red and orange.

The new packaging “celebrates the personality of each tomato,” and is 100% recyclable, according to the release.

“We don’t need to sacrifice flavor and fun to be more environmentally friendly,” Crisantes said in the release. “We will continue to explore options that are better for the environment in more of our product lines while delivering to our customers’ needs.”
