West Pak looks to address trends with new avocado packaging

Murrieta, Calif.-based West Pak Avocado designed its three new organic avocado brands with specific uses and consumer groups in mind.

George Henderson, marketing manager for West Pak, said the options allow retailers to customize offerings based on the shoppers they serve.

Lil’ Cados provide single serving-size fruit, ideal for convenience and minimization of food waste.

West Pak designed its “millennial-minded” I Love Avocados brand for aficionados of the fruit, Henderson said. Its packaging features an avocado with a heart-shaped pit.

The California Gold Avocados brand caters to consumers looking for in-season and locally or regionally produced fruit.

“The feedback has been amazing,” Henderson said. “The passion for avocados continues to be fueled by a consumer market that has been loving avocados for years now and new consumers that are just now discovering the tremendous nutritional value, taste profile and multiple recipe uses.”

Lil’ Cados and I Love Avocados will be available later this summer, and California Gold Avocados will be available for the 2019 California avocado season.
