Three longtime produce retail professionals — Mike O’Brien, Joe Watson and Armand Lobato — helped select the winners of the winter contest, and during the webinar they shared insights on what made the featured displays outstanding.
They also addressed retail topics including supplier-led display contests, use of grower-shipper point-of-sale material, flexible fixtures, assortment and more.
O’Brien is the former vice president of produce for St. Louis-based Schnuck Markets, Watson is the former director of produce for Thibodaux, La.-based Rouses Markets, and Lobato is a veteran of numerous produce retail roles, including buyer, merchandiser and category manager. Ashley Nickle, editor of PMG magazine and retail editor of The Packer, moderated the webinar.
The spring season of the Produce Artist Award Series begins later this month. Email PMG editor Ashley Nickle at [email protected] to submit photos or for any questions about the program.
