Walmart customers who bought certain weighted groceries or bagged fruit may be eligible for part of a $45 million dollar settlement.
The class-action lawsuit accused Walmart of overcharging customers who purchased groceries sold by weight. The filing claimed the company inflated product weight, mislabeled bagged produce weight and overcharged for clearance items.
Customers who bought eligible sold-by-weight groceries from Walmart between Oct. 19, 2018, and Jan. 19, 2024, qualify for the settlement.
Walmart shoppers have until June 5 to submit a claim to be included. Customers can get 2% of what they spent on covered products — capped at $500.
A final settlement approval hearing is set for June 12.
