Kantar has released its ranking of the top 50 U.S. retailers by estimated 2020 sales, and Walmart is once again the leader by a large margin, followed by Amazon and Kroger.

The firm reports Walmart sales at nearly $409 billion and projects the retailer will see a sales compound annual growth rate of 2% over the next five years. Walmart has 5,259 stores in the U.S., nearly 3,100 of which have grocery pickup. Grocery deliveries now go out from more than 1,600 locations. Walmart has 50,000 personal shoppers to fill orders.

Amazon comes in second on Kantar’s top 50 list with an estimated $155 billion in 2020 sales and a projected CAGR of 14% for 2020-2025. The company’s exploration of grocery has the industry on alert; after buying Whole Foods and opening Amazon Go convenience stores that carry some fresh food, Amazon plans to open the first store in a new grocery banner in 2020.

Kroger comes in third with $122 billion in sales and projected growth for 2020-2025 of 3%. The retailer has 3,007 locations, recently launched a brand refresh, and has partnered with Ocado to build 20 large e-commerce fulfillment centers, positioning itself to meet demand for more pickup and delivery orders in the years ahead.

Costco ranks fourth among U.S. retailers with nearly $120 billion in estimated 2020 sales, and Kantar expects the company to see a sales CAGR of 6% over the next five years. Costco has 553 locations and has seen a sales CAGR of 7% in the last five years.

Target came in eight on the list, and Albertsons, Ahold Delhaize, Publix and Aldi ranked 10th, 12th, 13th and 15th, respectively.

On its report, Kantar projected a positive trajectory in the next five years for Costco, Publix, Aldi and H-E-B.
