Wada Farms sees strong market outlook

Wada Farms sees strong market outlook

by Tom Karst, Nov 03, 2021

Foodservice demand is strong for Wada Farms, said Joe Esta, vice president of the Idaho Falls, Idaho-based company.

“Our foodservice demand is very high; we think that will continue,” Esta said.

Total fresh volume could be down about 10%, and market conditions this season should feature prices firmly above year-ago levels.

At the same time, higher input costs are a big worry for the industry, Esta said.

About 3% of the Wada Farms crop is organic, he said.

Originally established in 1943, Wada Farms was founded by Frank Wada, who immigrated to the U.S. from Japan in 1922.
