CHICAGO—Five produce managers went home from United Fresh 2018 with an even bigger smile on their faces after being named Grand Prize winners in the United Fresh Retail Produce Manager Awards.
All 25 of this year’s winners were recognized at the Retail-Foodservice Celebration Breakfast at United Fresh, but these five grand prize winners were chosen for taking their operations to the next level, said Tom Stenzel, president and CEO.
This year’s grand prize winners are:
- Mike Martin, Tops Friendly Markets;
- Shelly Carlock, Foodmaxx/The SaveMart Cos.;
- Heather Gengler, Hy-Vee Inc.;
- Mandy Aniciete, Brookshire Grocery Co.;
- Gustavo Cadena, Grocery Outlet.
Each grand prize winner received a check for $1,000, in addition to the trip to Chicago with corporate produce management provided by the program.
