The National Association of Perishable Agricultural Receivers (NAPAR) has a new partnership with food industry buying cooperative Topco Associates LLC.
The agreement gives NAPAR members significant savings, according to a news release, through the cooperative’s “indirect spend” program, using the collective buying power of Topco’s wholesale and retail members. The program is limited to materials NAPAR members use to run their business, not for items to re-sell.
That includes packaging materials, refrigeration equipment, and warehousing items from jacks to forklifts, according to the news release.
“This partnership will push more to (NAPAR wholesaler members) bottom lines and make them more competitive,” Matthew D’Arrigo, vice president of D’Arrigo Bros. Co. of New York, and NAPAR chairman, said in the release.
