Taylor Farms issues diced onion recall

by Chris Koger, Mar 21, 2018

Taylor Farms Foodservice has recalled diced onions after a random test in a single finished package detected salmonella.

The onions were identified by the company as TF Yellow Onion Diced 3/8” 4/5#, item number 1130025, package code STF066A56, with a “best by” date of March 24.

As of March 20, Haggen grocery stores were the only company that publicly issued its own recall. Twelve Washington state Haggen stores recalled deli products made with the onions.

Taylor Farms released a statement through Voce Communications, a public relations and marketing company.

“Our number-one priority is the health and safety of our customers,” according to the statement. “Taylor Farms Foodservice Inc. initiated a voluntary, precautionary recall of a limited quantity of Taylor Farms branded diced yellow onions.

“There have been no complaints or illnesses reported in association with this recall,” according to the statement. “We have immediately launched an investigation and are working closely with the FDA.”

Taylor Farms asked any customers that distributed the affected onions to issue their own recalls.

Haggen’s products in the recall, along with, partial Universal Product Codes and sell-by dates are:
