On Memorial Day, all 171 locations of California-based Stater Bros. Markets will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance, according to a news release.
The National Moment of Remembrance, established by an Act of Congress in 2000, designates 3 pm local time on Memorial Day each year as a moment to pause, in an act of national unity, to honor the men and women of the U.S. who died in military service to the U.S.
At exactly 3 pm Pacific on Monday, May 30, every Stater Bros. store manager will ask all customers and employees in their store to pause for a one-minute moment of silence to honor and remember our fallen heroes.
In addition, Bugles Across America is partnering with Stater Bros. to arrange for a bugler to play a live rendition of Taps following the moment of silence at a dozen store locations.
“Having been founded by veterans, Cleo and Leo Stater, Stater Bros. Markets is grateful to our service members, past and present, and remembers those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country,” Stater Bros. CEO Pete Van Helden said in the release.
