Just three years after reaching the 200-store mark, Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market opened its 300th store in Simpsonville, S.C.

The company planned a grand opening June 30 to mark the event, which also is its 16th state since officially launching as Sprouts Farmers Market in 2002.

“As Sprouts continues to expand from coast to coast, we’re pleased with our guests’ response to our unique combination of health and value,” said Ted Frumkin, chief development officer, in a news release. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the opening of the 300th Sprouts with our new neighbors in Simpsonville.

Sprouts opened nine new stores in the first quarter of 2018, including its first in Maryland. The company has 47 approved sites and 40 signed leases in the pipeline, said CEO Amin Maredia, during the most recent earnings report held April 29.

Sprouts reported $1.3 billion in sales in the first quarter of 2018.
