Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash has promoted Amy McClellan to vice president of fresh merchandising.
In her new role, McClellan will be responsible for the product assortment, quality and innovation in the fresh product categories, according to a news release. She will also help develop the long-term strategy for fresh across SpartanNash’s 150 stores and the 2,100 independent locations the company serves.
“Amy’s strong leadership in merchandising, market development and strategic growth initiatives will help to grow and expand the fresh merchandising categories at SpartanNash,” chief merchandising and marketing Officer Lori Raya said in the release.
McClellan was previously the senior vice president of retail operations and merchandising for Martin’s Super Markets and division vice president of retail for SpartanNash, which acquired Martin’s in 2019. McClellan recently celebrated her 20-year anniversary of working for Martin’s.

McClellan starts her new role March 8 and will report to senior vice president of merchandising Joe McQuesten.
