Southern Specialties, Pompano Beach, has recalled Walmart brand Marketside green beans and butternut squash products because of the potential presence of Listeria Monocytogenes.

The company posted a notice of the recall on the Food and Drug Administration’s website on Feb. 25. The beans and squash products were shipped to one retail distribution center on Feb. 17. Most of the beans and squash were pulled before going to retailers, but some stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia may have received the products, according to the recall notice.

No illnesses have been reported in connection to the recall.

Southern Specialties issued the recall after a supplier found listeria on a food contact surface during a routine test at its own facility. All Southern Specialties products that were repacked on the same line at the company’s facility have been recalled. The company has done its own testing and found no trace of Listeria Monocytogenes, according to the recall notice.

The Marketside brand products in the recall are:

  • Bagged Green Beans, 32 ounces/907 grams, with the Universal Product Code 681131457385, best-by date of March 9 and lot code of 83931-123 or 83939-124;
  • Bagged Green Beans, 12 ounces/340 grams, with the UPC 681131328869, best-by date of March 8 and lot code of 83928-628 or 83932-123; and
