Southern Exposure New Product Review: Rainbow Carrot Chips from Cal-Organic

Southern Exposure New Product Review: Rainbow Carrot Chips from Cal-Organic

by Ashley Nickle, Feb 21, 2020

Cal-Organic Farms, a division of Bakersfield, Calif.-based Grimmway Farms, will be introducing organic rainbow carrot chips for retail at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure.

“With the rainbow carrot category experiencing continued success and growth at retail, we opted to expand our rainbow carrot product portfolio with another value-added cut to offer variety to consumers already shopping for rainbow baby carrots, shredded carrots and traditional orange carrot chips,” said Valorie Sill, communications and engagement manager.

The company had rolled out the item for foodservice first, back in October at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit, and many of their customers requested a retail pack to market the item in stores, Sill said.

Organic rainbow carrot chips are now available from Cal-Organic in a 12-ounce pack for retail, along with the foodservice packs the company has already been offering.

The product is shipping now and has year-round availability.

Cal-Organic has a number of recipes on its website that are designed around the product, from Chicken Tortilla Soup with Rainbow Carrot Chips to Black Pepper and Parmesan-Crusted Carrot Chips to Carrot Chip Stir Fry with Daikon Noodles and Chicken.

The company will be exhibiting at Southern Exposure at booth no. 737.
