See which retailers made the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers

No strangers to best rated employer lists, Monrovia, Calif.-based Trader Joe’s was the top retailer and No. 2 overall ranked company in the 2018 America’s Best Employers

The list, put together by Forbes with market research company Statista, is based on surveys of 30,000 Americans working for companies with at least 1,000 employees.

The anonymous surveys asked employees to rank their employer on a scale of zero to 10 on how likely they would be to recommend their employer to others.

Issaquah, Wash.-based Costco Wholesale, Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans Food Markets, Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Market and San Antonio, Texas-based H.E. Butt Co., also typically make the top rankings on the list, but check out the rest of the retailers recognized this year:

  • 2 - Trader Joe’s
  • 5 - Costco Wholesale
  • 8 - Wegmans Food Market
  • 38 - Publix Super Market
  • 53 - H.E. Butt Co.
  • 126 - Wawa
  • 165 - Quik Trip
  • 211 - Aldi Inc.
  • 245 - WinCo Foods
  • 275 - Hy-Vee Inc.
  • 340 - Big Y Foods
  • 359 - Gordon Food Service
  • 389 - Raley’s Family of Fine Stores
  • 398 - Bashas’
  • 400 - Fred Meyer

 

The rankings also are broken into two categories – 1,000 to 5,000 employees and 5,000 and up. Retailers that made the America’s Best Midsize Employers are:

  • 50 - New Seasons Market
  • 78 - Heinen’s Grocery Store
  • 218 - Woodman’s Markets
  • 243 - Earth Fare
  • 272 - Harmons
  • 378 - Instacart
  • 442 - Kum & Go
  • 458 - Harp’s Food Stores
  • 474 - Redner’s Markets
  • 496 - Acme Fresh Market
