Shippers in the Produce for Kids partnership will be raising money through the program for Feeding America food banks at Publix.

The healthy eating campaign, which kicked off Sept. 26, is in its 16th year, donating more than $546,000 for Feeding America programs, according to a news release.

The Publix Produce for Kids campaign runs through Oct. 24 and features these companies:

  • Avocados from Mexico
  • Crunch Pak sliced apples
  • Del Monte Foods’ Fruit Naturals
  • Michigan Apples
  • J&D Produce’s Little Bear brand
  • Marie’s salad dressings

Overall, Publix has raised more than $3.2 million for charities through the program since 2002, according to the release.

“Our shared vision has allowed the campaign to educate customers on the value of fresh produce while supporting children and families in the Publix market area,” Trish James, vice president of Produce for Kids, said in the release.

Signs direct consumers to Produce for Kids’ partners in the produce department, and shoppers are directed to produceforkids.com/publix, where they can find recipes and meal-planning tools.
