Pretty Lady grapes will now be available in top seal packaging for retailers and foodservice operators.

The top seal containers will be available in a variety of sizes for the Pretty Lady label, the trade name for J.P. Dulcich & Sons, Delano, Calif.

According to a news release, the company was a first adopter of the stand-up pouch that is common in the grape industry.

“The marketplace is never stagnant. It does not sit still,” Nick Dulcich, president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “The market has different needs at different times and we must try to deliver what the market wants. Innovations and investments in the future always pay off.”

Top seal packaging benefits include heightened food safety, lowered chances pf product tampering, reduced material waste and a more consistent product, according to the release.

The packaging will be available for 1-, 2-, and 3-pound packs. Hobgoblin, Pretty Lady and Christmas Pretty Lady brands will be in the top seal packaging.

The company has invested in a packing facility with automatic packing equipment, allowing the company to offer a more precise package weight for customers, according to the release.

“Day-by-day, year-by-year, we sit here, we do our work, we listen, we visit customers, and we assess what we need to do to succeed,” Dulcich said in the release.

Premium red, green, black and bicolor grapes will be offered in the new packaging.
