Denver-based Potatoes USA provides retailers with tips to maximize potato categories throughout the store and online to increase long-term sales, said Kayla Vogel, senior global marketing manager for consumer and retail.
Some of the key components of helping retailers include:
- Research: Every year, Potatoes USA invests in a large-scale study to answer specific questions retailers and potato growers have.
- Resources: The newest addition to resources is a comprehensive retail toolkit.
- Media: Potatoes USA works with prominent media channels to distribute information about potatoes to retail decision-makers.
- Outreach: Throughout the year, Potatoes USA travels to various regions to present at industry and retail events.
On the foodservice side, Potatoes USA attends and hosts many events that include culinary presentations and educational sessions, said Jane Foreman, foodservice manager.
Potatoes USA offers a free online education platform called Potato University that provides a wealth of potato preparation and inspiration ideas for chefs and foodservice operators, she said.
“A combination of videos, emails, social media, search engine marketing and influencer partnerships prominently features potatoes throughout the year with a combination of educational and inspirational messages,” Foreman said.
