Organic Produce Network to host online event centered on retailer insights

Scott Schuette with Fresh Thyme Market and Stew Leonard Jr. with Stew Leonard’s will be the featured speakers at an upcoming Organic Produce Network virtual event.

The event is scheduled for 12 p.m. CST on Nov. 11, according to a news release. Registration to attend is open.

“This has been a year unlike any other, with a variety of challenges, uncertainty and resolve by retailers across the country,” OPN co-founder Tonya Antle said in the release. “We are excited to have a pair of leading regional retailers share their thoughts on this year in terms of organic fresh produce sales and consumer purchasing behavior heading into the holidays and provide a look into what next year may look like.”

Schuette, the vice president of produce and floral for Fresh Thyme, will be part of a conversation with Antle about how the company is using organic as a point of difference in its stores. He will also speak about the holiday season ahead, merchandising opportunities and ways the organic fresh produce industry overall can be better, per the release. Fresh Thyme has 73 stores in 11 states throughout the Midwest.

The second part of the event will be a discussion between MorningNewsBeat’s Kevin Coupe and Stew Leonard. The company has seven locations in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey and has been ranked on Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work for in America list every year for a decade.
