Prices are steady at low levels. California supplies are plentiful, but extreme heat is starting to stunt
growth in some fields. Mexican-grown stocks are also on the market (loading out of South Texas). Quality is very good: brown bead, hollow core, and yellowing are occasional problems during the hot summer months. MFC Broccoli is available.
The market ranges from weak to average. On the East Coast, North Carolina and New Jersey are the main supply sources. Expect California stocks to increase over the next few weeks. MFC Squash is available.
The market is up a bit. Although supplies are abundant in Mexico and Texas, California stocks are begin affected by the current heat wave. Sugar levels range from 12 to 14 Brix.
Prices are low. Apricot stocks are ample; the crop is dominated by 72- to 88-count sizes. Nectarines and peaches are abundant; the season will run through mid-September. Sugar levels range from 10 to 12 Brix. Black plums are on the market and will remain available through mid-October. Expect sugar levels to
vary between 12 and 14 Brix. California cherries are plentiful.
The market is steady. Quality is very good, although fringe burn and internal burn are developing due to sustained hot weather. MFC Premium Green Leaf Lettuce is available.
