Following the heels of expanding in the Chicago area, vertical indoor strawberry grower Oishii says its Koyo Berries are now available in select Harris Teeter locations in the Washington, D.C., metro area.
This expands its Japanese varietal strawberries' footprint on the East Coast, according to a news release.
Koyo, which means “elated” in Japanese, was introduced in February 2023. Koyo berries boast a rich red hue, refreshing sweetness, balanced acidity and firm texture, the company said.
Oishii says it grows its berries in ndoor vertical farms in the U.S. and that the berries are pesticide-free and non-GMO.
A standard tray retails for $9.99 MSRP for 11 medium berries or eight large berries, according to the release.
Oishii said its Koyo Berries will be available at the following Harris Teeter store locations:
