Newsweek ranked Publix, ShopRite and Trader Joe’s as best among supermarkets for customer service.

The publication worked with research firm Statistica on the rankings, also done for categories including fast-food restaurants, convenience stores and many other sectors.

Publix scored a 9.07, ShopRite earned a 8.95, and Trader Joe’s rated at 8.94, according to Newsweek.

Retail Feedback Group recently debuted a shopper survey that highlights the importance of customer service to the overall satisfaction of a shopper with his or her trip to the store.

The friendliness, helpfulness, knowledge and availability of staff, along with the speed and efficiency of checkout, have a significant influence on the overall experience.

Shoppers surveyed by RFG ranked Walmart, Aldi and supermarkets on those factors using a scale of 1 to 5.

When one of those factors received a 1, 2 or 3, the overall satisfaction rating was generally in the range of 3.56 to 3.67.

When one of those factors received a 4 or 5, the scores were in a range of 4.45 to 4.52.
