SpartanNash has promoted Joseph McQuesten to senior vice president of center store and fresh merchandising.
McQuesten was previously the vice president of center store merchandising, a role he has had since 2014, according to a news release. In the new role, McQuesten will be in charge of creating retail programs for more than 135 corporate retail stores along with national accounts and independent customers.
“As SpartanNash continues to expand its organic, local and fresh perimeter offerings to meet our customers’ growing appetite for quality produce, meat, seafood, dairy, deli and all things quick and easy, we wanted to ensure our center store and fresh offerings are working together to provide our full range of customer solutions,” Larry Pierce, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing, said in the release. “Joe’s expertise in center store and experience with fresh merchandising make him ideally suited for this role as we continue to grow our offering.”
McQuesten has spent more than 30 years in the business, including about 20 years with Albertsons.
