More than 300 retailers now use a loyalty and data marketing program developed by Associated Wholesale Grocers.

The Shopper Engagement Platform can be used by single-store or multiple-store operators, and retailers can use it to deploy points programs, gas programs, short-term promotions, frequent shopper cards, mobile apps and other tools to increase loyalty and sales, according to a news release.

For retailers on the platform, shoppers using a card or rewards program have an average basket size nearly $14 larger, according to Associated Wholesale Grocers.

Market Basket, Sun Fresh, Strack & Van Til, Riesbeck’s and Hays are experiencing growth on the program, per the release.

“At the end of the day, it’s about evolving to provide different ways for our retailers to bring value to the consumer,” advertising manager Randy Lane said in the release. “And with that value comes data, which allows us to offer the customer relevant marketing — something that’s good for everyone involved.”
