Misionero to highlight its deli leaf lettuce

Gonzales, Calif.-based Misionero will showcase its deli leaf lettuce at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Foodservice Conference in late July.

The item is available in a 2/5-pound foodservice pack, said Hana Mohsin, marketing specialist at Misionero, Gonzales, Calif.

“This item is a Greenberg hybrid lettuce that has a crunchy and smooth leaf with ruffled edges,” Mohsin said. “Compared to others in its category, deli leaf lettuce is unique due to its sizing and shape. It’s perfect for burger toppers, lettuce wraps and many other plate options.”

Misionero’s product demand has been strong, Mohsin said, and the company is excited to highlight its products, expansion and people at the foodservice show.

In 2021, Misionero expanded into the hydroponic lettuce space.

“We partnered with Grupo Altex, an agriculture company in Mexico with more than 10 years of experience in the controlled environment agriculture space,” Mohsin said. “Products from Misionero’s hydroponic lettuce line include romaine, butter lettuce, little gem lettuce and more, including the most recent addition of spinach. Following our hydroponic addition, Misionero expanded by opening a new facility in Baltimore, an addition to our existing facilities in California and Arizona.”
