Michigan promoting its potatoes with branded display bins, Kwik Lok tags

by Ashley Nickle, Jan 18, 2019

The Michigan Potato Industry Commission will highlight potatoes produced in the state with 90 branded display bins and 4.6 million Kwik Lok tags with the Michigan Potatoes logo.

The tags also encourage shoppers to visit the website mipotato.com/win and enter their information for a chance to win a month of free groceries, according to a news release.

The branded bins were created in partnership with SpartanNash and will be in produce departments of that retailer and others throughout the state.

Support for the promotion comes from a U.S. Department of Agriculture specialty crop block grant. The creation of the branded bins is a major part of the nearly $100,000 grant.

“Customers all across the state have been asking for more locally grown foods, and we’re doing our part in helping make that happen,” the Michigan Potato Industry Commission wrote in the release.
