The National Mango Board's annual display contest gets started next month.
Displays must be in place for at least a week between June 1 and June 30, and contest entries must be submitted by July 12, according to a news release.
Every valid entry will receive a $15 gift card, and those that also include Tajin seasoning — with which the mango board is partnering again this year — get another $15.
There are two store categories, 1 to 6 cash registers and 7 or more cash registers. In each category, first place will receive $500, second place $250 and third place $100.
A wide selection of point-of-sale material, including pieces focusing on selection, ripeness, cutting, varieties and recipes, is available from NMB.
“The Mango Mania Display Contest is one of our annual signature retail marketing programs,” Valda Coryat, director of marketing for the board, said in the release. “We always look forward to this time of year when we turn up the volume and the fun for produce shoppers. Our partners are always thoughtful and creative as they build engaging displays during our peak mango volume months. We're confident that this year will be just as exciting.”
POS is also available for Tajin, which can be sprinkled on mangoes to add some kick to the sweet fruit. The contest partnership between NMB and Tajin is in its third year.
“The results last year were fantastic, and we look forward to seeing the creative displays that retailers big and small build this year,” Eric Patrick, North American alliance director at Tajin, said in the release. “Mangoes and Tajin are a delicious combination, and these joint displays create a ton of interest in both products.”
