Little Leaf Farms, a Devens, Mass.-based cultivator of packaged lettuce, launched a new promotion to highlight the popularity of salads for office worker lunches.
The company said in a news release that a recent survey conducted by Opinium Research showed that roughly 3 out of 4 (76%) non-remote corporate workers eat lunch at their desks, and 68% of those workers prefer salads due to convenience and the ability to continue to be productive during lunch.
The survey also found that 73% of office workers plan to bring their lunch to work more often.
"Upon learning just how many corporate workers are committed to eating better and saving money this year, we knew we needed to do our part to spice things up a little,” Jeannie Hannigan, senior brand manager at Little Leaf Farms, said in the release. “There's no reason a desk salad can't be a five-star dining event, and the Happy Desk Salad Kit is sure to take those desk lunches up a few notches."
Little Leaf Farm said its newest limited-edition salad kit — the Happy Desk Salad Kit — comes with its Crispy Caesar Salad Kit, a desk shade; water bottle chiller; fork, linen and napkin ring; desktop candelabra; placemat and more.
"Somewhere along the lines, the desk salad got seriously maligned and became the symbol of a less-than-stellar office lunch experience. We're here to change that perception,” Hannigan said. “Little Leaf Farms is just as serious about leveling up lunchtime as we are about growing a longer-lasting, fresher, more sustainable lettuce.”
