Twelve more Walgreens locations will carry an assortment of Kroger groceries beginning early next year.
The first Kroger Express concept is operational now in a Walgreens in Florence, Ky. The selection includes Home Chef meal kits, fresh produce, private-label items and more.
“We are redefining the customer experience in a variety of ways through Restock Kroger, including innovative partnerships like our test-and-learn pilot with Walgreens,” Robert Clark, senior vice president of merchandising for Kroger, said in a news release. “We are excited to enter the next phase of the pilot. The Kroger Express concept creates easy access to our most popular (private-label) products through a fill-in grocery shopping experience for Walgreens customers, and our Home Chef Express meal kits provide customers with an on-demand solution for tonight’s dinner.”
The Kroger Express assortment includes 2,300 items selected using data and insights from 84.51, the Kroger subsidiary that specializes in analytics.
