The International Fresh Produce Association is looking for a new chief food safety and regulatory officer as Natalie Dyenson, who has held that role since 2023, is set to leave the organization for a new role.
A search will start immediately for her successor, said IFPA in a news release. In the meantime, Chief Science Officer Max Teplitski will lead food safety efforts at the organization.
"Natalie has contributed so much to IFPA and our global food safety community, notably her perspectives from within the industry which were used to help refine and streamline our food safety offerings, as well as strengthening our engagement with policy and regulatory bodies like Codex," said IFPA CEO Cathy Burns. "Her greatest legacy will be in the team she built who will continue the great work to strengthen the culture of food safety and advocacy work on behalf of the industry.”
Dyenson’s last day will be April 30, when she departs for Boar’s Head to serve as its next chief food safety officer.
“It’s been an honor to serve the produce industry at IFPA,” said Dyenson. “I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled at IFPA and I’m confident they will continue to advance the industry’s knowledge and influence in the food safety space. I appreciate the opportunity to work in the produce industry and will take these relationships and the knowledge I’ve gained in my future roles.”
IFPA’s food safety team includes Vice President Food Safety Standards and Regulatory Compliance Paul Lewis; Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Angie Fraser; Food Safety Manager Jorge Quintanilla; and Food Safety and Support Coordinator Alison Saltzmann.
