Hy-Vee has inked a three-year endorsement deal with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes, the NFL MVP in 2018 and one of the most popular players in the league.
The partnership with Hy-Vee will include TV commercials, social media, appearances, apparel and exclusive product launches at Hy-Vee stores, according to a news release.
“Patrick Mahomes is a true MVP in the way he conducts himself both on and off the field,” Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee’s chairman, CEO and president, said in the release. “He is motivating and hard-working, making him a positive role model for both our customers and football fans, alike. We believe this partnership will bring more attention to his outstanding achievements and inspire younger generations to follow the example he has set for others.”
Mahomes drew a tremendous amount of attention in 2018, his first season as a starter. He threw for more than 5,000 yards, including for 50 touchdowns.
The new partnership between him and Hy-Vee kicked off with the company’s Exercising Your Character event, which teaches fourth- and fifth-graders in Iowa about character building, physical activity and leading a healthy lifestyle, per the release.
