H-E-B opened its second H-E-B store in Frisco, Texas, making it the seventh such location the San Antonio-based retailer has in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The 130,000-square-foot H-E-B Frisco store at 899 University Drive in eastern Denton County joins other recently opened H-E-B Texas locations in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, Alliance and Mansfield, as well as Joe V’s Smart Shop Wheatland in Dallas and six Central Market locations that have been serving Dallas-Fort Worth shoppers for more than two decades, according to a news release.

H-E-B said it designed the store to reflect the character unique to the Frisco community and emphasized environmental sustainability, incorporating several energy-efficient inclusions such as carbon dioxide refrigeration units and LED lighting. The site also features native landscaping.

“With our second store in the Frisco community, our H-E-B Partners remain committed to earning the trust of our neighbors, providing them the shopping experience they’ve come to expect from us,” Greg Bennion, store leader for the new location, said in the release. “We look forward to serving even more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas.”

Among the store highlights are:

  • Produce section with large organic and Texas-grown selections.
  • H-E-B Wellness Nutrition Services with nutrition expertise from licensed dietitians.
  • H-E-B Meal Simple with fresh, convenient chef-inspired meals prepared in-store.
  • Cooking Connection with live demonstrations and samplings for easy recipes to make at home.
  • Blooms floral department, offering online ordering and delivery service.
  • Bakery featuring handmade artisan breads, cakes and in-store made, warm tortillas.
  • Deli department with an expansive cheese selection and charcuterie island.
  • Meat market with prime, natural and organic meats, wagyu and fully cooked options.
H-E-B also announced additional H-E-B stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area: Melissa and Prosper, which are under construction, and Rockwall, which broke ground in late June.

The company said a Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B Buckner (5204 S. Buckner Blvd.) is expected to open spring 2025. Joe V’s Smart Shop is part of H-E-B’s family of brands.
