GrubMarket has launched AI Model Configuration and Enterprise Dictionary for GrubAssist AI.
This update enables food supply chain companies to directly train GrubAssist AI to rapidly learn and adapt to not only industry-level context but also business-specific concepts and terminology, ensuring responses that are highly relevant and accurate across diverse enterprises, according to a news release.
GrubMarket said many food supply chain businesses leverage internal naming conventions, resulting in custom products and commodity names, customer and vendor codes, warehouse identifiers and other key terms captured within their enterprise resource planning systems. Until now, artificial intelligence-powered tools struggled to match conversational user prompts to such terms in the ERP database, the release said, adding that the new AI Model Configuration capabilities from GrubMarket allow users of GrubAssist AI to easily map common, everyday language used by team members to their business's internal ERP data in a proprietary Enterprise Dictionary.
With this feature, GrubAssist AI can adapt how it uses generative AI models to interpret and respond to each prompt — resulting in intelligent insights that are fine-tuned for the specific enterprise, the release said.
GrubMarket says key features include:
- Custom AI model instruction — Organizations can add custom business context to GrubAssist AI, ensuring that company-specific names, codes, customer identifiers and operational terms are understood and processed correctly by the AI.
- Communication in natural language — Users can speak their prompts naturally to GrubAssist using common names and expressions for products, commodities, customers, vendors, warehouse locations, etc., using text-based chat or hands-free voice mode. The AI seamlessly translates this common language into complex, technical database queries that map to custom terms and codes in the database.
- Accurate AI responses, dynamically suited to the enterprise — GrubAssist AI now interprets any inbound prompt based on the company's specific context, resulting in a deeper understanding of the user's intent and thus greater accuracy in the AI's responses. Furthermore, the AI is now capable of formulating responses with user-friendly language customized for each specific company.
- Seamless integration with leading ERP and accounting platforms — GrubAssist AI is fully compatible with WholesaleWare, Famous, PICS, Thyme, Granite State Software and QuickBooks, with data migration solutions for all other major ERP and accounting systems.
"One of the biggest challenges to widespread AI adoption in the food supply chain industry has been accommodating colloquial language used by employees and business terminology that inevitably varies from company to company. For instance, one company might utilize custom short codes in its product database, but when using GrubAssist, users employ common, everyday language. Another company might have employees who have given nicknames to their customers," said Genevieve Wang, chief software product officer for GrubMarket. "With these new features, we've created a way for our AI to dynamically understand and map the language used by employees of each specific company, enabling smarter and more accurate AI responses."
Food wholesalers and distributors operate in fast-moving, high-volume environments where efficiency and accuracy are essential, GrubMarket said, adding that many companies rely on custom naming conventions that have been used for decades, and until now, AI tools lacked the flexibility to understand and interpret these unique terms well. With GrubAssist AI's latest enhancements, companies can now harness the power of AI without changing the way they work, empowering employees to engage naturally and receive precise, AI-powered insights in real-time and on the go, the release said.
The AI Model Configuration and Enterprise Dictionary capabilities are now available to all enterprise subscribers of GrubAssist AI.
