Shoppers can earn extra points through specialized offers and can choose how to spend their points as part of the enhanced loyalty rewards program from Giant Food Stores.
Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant previously had the Gas Extra Rewards program, but the retailer piloted its new Giant Choice Rewards program this summer and received strong reviews.
Instead of earning one point per $1 spent on qualifying items and then receiving corresponding discounts on gas, shoppers can now earn at that same rate but receive additional points when they take advantage of personalized deals, and they can use their points on gas or convert them to dollars to save on groceries, according to a news release.
“We’re always looking for ways to use technology to give our customers a better shopping experience,” Matt Simon, chief marketing officer of Giant, said in the release. “Following the positive feedback we received from our associates and customers during the pilot, we’re excited to introduce the expanded program to all of our customers, offering them the freedom to choose the reward that matters most to them and additional ways to be rewarded, just in time for the holiday season.”
Shoppers can use the Giant app to track their points and see their personalized offers. The app can also be used to load digital coupons or place online orders.
