Fresno, Calif.-based Fowler Packing will debut in November its mandarin brand Peelz.
The fruit will be available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 5-pound packs, according to a news release. Fowler has been growing and packing significant volumes of mandarins for nearly two decades.
“We could not be prouder to launch Peelz today,” CEO Justin Parnagian said in the release. “Our 70-year farming operation was built on true partnerships with retailers and our family’s commitment to delivering quality, consistency and flexibility. We are excited to extend that offering with Peelz California mandarins.”
The marketing around the new brand will include digital campaigns, demos, displays and giveaways, per the release. Sean Nelsen, who most recently served as senior director and produce lead for Topco, has joined Fowler as the vice president of sales and marketing and has put together a team that will help support the launch of the new brand.
In previous seasons, Fowler had partnered with Los Angeles-based The Wonderful Co. to grow and pack mandarins under the Halos brand. The companies announced the end of that partnership earlier this year.
