Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results have triggered the recall of certain Eat Smart Sweet Kale bagged salads due to potential listeria contamination.
The recalled products carry the universal product code 7 09351 89145 8.
The 12-ounce salads were distributed to retailers in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and possibly elsewhere, according to the notice on the CFIA website.
No illnesses had been reported in connection with the recall as of Feb. 17.
The CFIA is verifying that recalled product is removed from the supply chain.
The recall is the second in the span of months for the Sweet Kale variety of an Eat Smart product. Sweet Kale Salad Shake Ups were recalled in Canada in early December for possible listeria contamination. That recall was also prompted by CFIA test results, and no illnesses were reported.
