MONTREAL — Kingsville, Ontario-based Double Diamond Farms featured two new in-store displays at its Canadian Produce Marketing Association show booth April 3-4.

One of the displays is a safari vehicle designed to hold bags of mini sweet peppers, grape tomatoes and cocktail cucumbers. The bags have colorful designs and animal characters to appeal to kids.

The other display is more traditional in nature and offers shoppers a new grab-and-go tomato snack pack.

“Everything that we've heard so far is that they do like them and they think they'll be useful,” said Graham Hamilton, marketing specialist.

Sustainable packaging is another offering that Double Diamond continues to develop.

“Ideally, all of our customers would want recyclable or compostable or biodegradable packaging, not everybody wants it because they don't necessarily want to pay the difference, but we are getting more and more customers that are actually asking for that or even requiring it, so we're finding some new solutions for that,” Hamilton said.
