Del Monte introduces Better Break product line

Coral Gables, Fla.-based Del Monte Fresh Produce will soon debut its Better Break product line of vegetable-rich, microwaveable snacks.

The goal of the line is to give consumers ways to include more produce in their lunches and snacks without taking time to peel, seed and cut various vegetables, according to a news release.

Items in the line include:

  • Spicy Pomodoro — kohlrabi linguine and chunky, spicy chipotle pepper tomato sauce
  • Zesty Green Chile — kohlrabi, cauliflower, kale, chickpea and bell peppers with tangy green chile sauce
  • Summer Corn — cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato, kale and corn sauce with roasted corn and bell pepper

Each product is 130 calories or fewer per serving and has 4 grams of protein.

“We know that our consumers — millennials especially — are looking for tasty, convenient and wholesome options when it comes to lunch and afternoon snacking,” vice president of marketing Dennis Christou said in the release. “Better Break is our solution for everyone who may be too busy to prepare their own plant-forward options, and we look forward to adding them to our Del Monte lineup at our retailers nationwide this summer.”

The suggested retail price of the Better Break products is $3.99.
