MONTREAL – Organic produce is a big focus at the Metro Plus location we visited on the CPMA retail tour April 2, with growing sales prompting the store to devote more and more space to the category.
The store manager said he and other members of his team talk with shoppers by the organic displays to find out what items they are most interested in. He also talks with suppliers to hear what organic produce items are selling well at other stores. Those conversations help inform the store's organic selection.
Mondays are the busiest day each week as consumers flood in for their regular stock-up trips, and we stopped by on a Tuesday, so the produce department folks were hard at work filling displays back up.
