CHICAGO – Cece's Veggie Co. debuted a line of grill-ready vegetables June 11 at the United Fresh Produce Association conference and expo.
The new line, branded as Grillerz, has a summer squash mix, a white sweet potato and carrot mix, and a sweet potato mix. All the products come with garlic herb butter.
“They grill up really nice with grill marks because of the crinkle cut, so it's a really great addition for entertaining for the summer, pretty much any of the outdoor holidays – Memorial Day, Fourth of July, that kind of thing – and it's a great way to add veggies to a traditionally meat-focused holiday,” said marketing strategist Aspen Lewis.
Grillerz hit shelves before Memorial Day in select East Coast retailers and will be rolling out in H-E-B for Fourth of July. They'll also be available in certain Whole Foods, Earth Fare and Mom's Organic Market stores, among others.
