The Idaho Potato Commission is sending a lucky produce manager to Italy as part of its 2020 Potato Lover’s Month Display Contest.

Every entry in the upcoming contest, February through the end of March, is entered to win a week-long Italian vacation, with the total payout in prizes at more than $150,000.
The contest cross-merchandises Idaho potatoes, Hormel Bacon Toppings and Fresh Gourmet products. Point-of-sale materials are available from the commission. In the commission’s announcement on the annual contest, the group reminds produce managers that creativity is the key to a successful display.

“Seriously, the size of your display doesn’t matter,” according to the commission. “Not all stores have room for a big display. Based on your creativity, you can still win! Smaller displays have the same chance of winning as larger displays.”

Retailers compete in three categories: 1 to 5 registers, 6 to 9 registers and more than 10 registers. Each category has five places, with prizes ranging from $1,500 to $250.
Contest details are available on the Idaho Potato Commission website.

In the meantime, check out past winners for ideas.

All entries receive a free Gourmia brand ExpressPot.
