BelleHarvest Sales Inc., Belding, Mich., plans to grow its partnership with the PAW Patrol animated kids TV series, said president Nick Mascari.
“We’re looking to ramp up our retail partnerships and promotions with that program,” he said. The company ties Honeycrisp, fuji and gala apple varieties to different PAW Patrol characters, he said.
“We have significant assets that we can utilize from Nickelodeon to help launch or support retail promotions,” he said.
The promotion got off to a slow start due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Mascari expects to see significant growth.
“We hope to hit full stride this year,” he said.
And the company now is in its second full season following its acquisition of Michigan Fresh Marketing LLC, Comstock Park, Mich.
The acquisition allowed BelleHarvest to gain significant apple acreage, making it the No. 2 apple shipper in Michigan, Mascari said. The deal also added a number of vegetables, including summer squash, asparagus, sweet corn and cucumbers, to the firm’s product line.
BelleHarvest also has launched a sustainable 3-pound corrugated apple pack for its
fuji, gala and Honeycrisp apples, he said.
“It’s good looking, and it protects fruit better than a pouch bag or poly bag,” he said.
