Kansas City, Kan.-based Associated Wholesale Grocers has partnered with Smart Retail Solutions to help its members cut down on shrink.

The company’s cloud-based system ProfitTrax is designed to bring together data from various sources and alert users to opportunities to increase sales and profit.

“We are very excited to partner with AWG to offer its retailers new ways to grow sales and reduce shrink,” Larry Miller, president of Smart Retail Solutions, said in a news release. “By simultaneously growing sales and focusing on consistent best practice execution, we have proven that stores can add significant profit to their bottom line.”

In the release, AWG executive vice president Jeff Pedersen described the technology as useful for improving operations, merchandising and loss prevention.

Scott Bayne, vice president of sales and merchandising for Kansas City-based Balls Food Stores, also endorsed the product.

“We have seen excellent results by using the ProfitTrax system,” Bayne said in the release. “We have always had tons of data, but with ProfitTrax our sales and grosses are up, and the ProfitTrax TEAM-UP process has our operations and merchandising teams working together to optimize inventory productivity, freshness and profit.”
