Okanagan Specialty Fruits has redesigned its Arctic apple 2-ounce packing, which features vibrant colors and a new mascot, Artie.
The company said Artie features a big smile and an adventurous spirit and is designed to make healthy eating fun while promoting a healthy lifestyle — including active play and STEM learning — to inspire kids and families to make smarter choices.
“Artie is more than just a mascot — he’s the perfect representation of our brand’s fresh, innovative spirit,” Neal Carter, CEO and co-founder of Okanagan Specialty Fruits, said in a news release. “Artie brings our new packaging to life, making Arctic apples not just a snack, but an experience that encourages kids to embrace fun, healthy habits every day.”
Making appearances on packaging and marketing materials, Okanagan Specialty Fruits said Artie will take center stage in its storytelling. The company said Artie will help share the science behind Arctic apples and its positive impact on reducing food waste.
The company said it intends for Artie to highlight how modern agriculture and sustainability go hand-in-hand with enjoying delicious, fresh apple slices.
Okanagan Specialty Fruits' rollout of its new 2-ounce Arctic apples packaging in schools and foodservice channels nationwide is planned for this spring, the release said.
